Solid automation challenges, with a few hiccups
Stoneblock 3 is a solid kitchen sink pack, with a unique enough early game, but its main hook for me was the late game. Like other packs, the endgame goal is crafting a set of Infinity tools and armor, however the ingredients for the Infinity Ingot are more unique than usual, especially the singularities: instead of having to get 1000 iron and diamond and so on, you’ll mostly need to automate random items from different mods, such as Pig Iron from Tinker’s Construct, Polonium from Mekanism, Balloons from Immersive Engineering and so on. Since it’s a Kitchen Sink pack, you often have multiple options to achieve the same thing, which I also really enjoyed.
As for its downfalls, Stoneblock 3 doesn’t always bother to fully explain mechanics, which meant I had to look up solutions for certain items. Another issue is the integration of Create, which involves very random items from other mods (like Watches of Flowing Time from ProjectE and Processors for your AE2/Refined Storage network) requiring an assembly line recipe, which always felt like an annoying detour instead of interesting integration.
Another issue was the lag. The Balloon Singularity mentioned earlier required an obscene amount of Hemp, and the setup me and a friend built to actually reach that amount lagged the game hard, to the point where we decided to AFK until all the hemp was done so that we can play normally.
Overall, it’s not a bad pack, but its not particularly outstanding either
