Prominence™ Classic Reviews
This is the only mod that I would actually play outside of reviewing mods
The custom weapons are insane, the animations are amazing. The Villages were also really good. The mod had a lot of lag though

Promising, but extremely unstable.
I chose this modpack originially because of two main reasons:
1. It had a lot of newer mods that I was interested in, that werent present in other packs.
2. It had a large amount of downloads already, so I had assumed it was at the very least bug tested by the community and would have enough info floating around to fix it myself if not by the devs.
However, while the newer mods were fine. This modpack probably had one of the worst performance both on the client and server I have ever seen in a list before, as well as having multiple extremely gamebreaking bugs that make me feel like the devs didnt even test it, or are fine with things such as:
– Offhanding an item listed as Two-Handed entirely deletes it. It’s a known bug… Gone unfixed for a very long time. Pressing the off-hand key on your main weapon can entirely delete it by accident. You cant get it back.
Additionally there was constant lag spikes, entire server freezes randomly during world gen, and a whole host of other issues that, if fixed, would’ve made for an average but okay kitchen sink pack.
Quests were…
The “custom content” in the mod was only just the UI and some (Very buggy and extremely loud randomly) OST from what i understood, the rest was moved to their Fabric version of the pack, which the questbook basically advertises you to swap to.
The other quests were basically just guides, the rewards were almost entirely miniscule amounts of XP. It’s better then nothing, but it’s not really a quest log more then what you’d see just searching for the mod in JEI.
Of course, that’s for the quests that do exist. The vast majority of mods do not even have entiries in the quest log, and the entire magic category only has Botania in it. I would’ve preferred a quest category just telling me a brief summary of the magic mods in the pack, then being told nothing at all.
Additionally, difficulty felt all over the place. I remember hearing this pack was more “Balanced” then others, but I had full enchanted Netherite gear, and some weapons that were far stronger then that, and one boss was taking about 0.8% of it’s health per hit… While regenning. I dont see how that’s balanced or enjoyable to fight a HP sponge boss.
Fairly unstable kitchen sink pack
I went into this pack super excited, it has some really great (new) mods in it, including Alex’s Caves and Mobs, the new release of Aether, End Remastered, Create, Botania etc. But honestly I found the pack a bit of a mess and gave up before I could get too into it. It always worries me with modpacks when you do your first bit of mining, and find 4 different versions of silver ore from 4 different mods, that’s one of the first and easiest things to fix if you’re making a modpack in my opinion..
The quests are all over the place, some are extremely lazy; collect every type of sapling, collect every type of seed… like seriously? Quite a few quests have typos, some categories have a crazy number of quests and others have almost none (even though you’d expect them), and I have no idea what the ‘Story Campaign’ is, I certainly didn’t find any ‘Story’ in any of the quest categories. The modpack was also quite unstable, I played for probably 8-10 hours and it hard crashed every couple of hours or so.
There’s some genuinely awesome mods in here, but the pack feels fairly minimal effort, I might pull the mods out and make my own custom pack with it though.
