Triforge [Legacy] Reviews
The only good "Vanilla Plus" Modpack
This has been the most enjoyable experience trying all sorts of Vanilla Plus Modpacks.
Well worth a try for a SMP Server.
Worth to keep in mind most of my friends trying this modpack has had the same minecraft crash when launching the game and cant seem to find a fix, after some restarts it somehow just boots up but can take a long time to get it up and running
A breath of fresh air from traditional modpacks
This pack has tons of things to do, and plenty progression paths to follow as well as charms to collect, a “hardmode” of its own based on said charms that will allow you to use other special charms, places to explore and just has its own general aesthetic that is pleasing in its own right. Even if you are one who thinks they cant do without tinkers, AE2 and Thermal Series, give it a try. If you can, I would HIGHLY recommend getting a small group or community together to play this, it really enhances the experience and is the way its intended to be played.
Would love to play it if I actually could.
There seems to be a stability bug that causes the MC instance to hang when launching for some. Done a lot of trouble shooting and when I finally made it to the discord (which was difficult due to broken links) I found that it’s a known issue, linked below.
The modpack author is developing the second iteration of the pack and has decided to not pursue fixing the issue due to difficulty replicating the bug and the fact that a newer version will be out soon.
I guess I’ll wait. The modpack seems amazing from the one time I actually got it to launch. But the issue is persistent across both my laptop and desktop and I have no way to actually play it. I’ll have to set up a server for my friends using a different modpack while I wait.

Response from developer
Thank you for your feedback, we are sorry you couldn’t experience the modpack at all due to the crash, and I wanted to elaborate on the bug that prevented you from playing, to not cause confussion among people just learning about Triforge.
Sadly the issue you encountered is strictly Java problem that seems to appear in some environments, and we cannot really narrow down what’s common among them. As for now this very issue appeared among <10 players from nearly 10,000 that tried the pack so far, and none of them could narrow down how did it started to occur, nor could we tell what's common among their system environments. On our end we tried everything we could, including suggesting and testing various commonly working fixes like: switching to different Java versions, different memory settings, launch arguments etc. None of suggested fixes nor conducted tests really did anything for anyone encountering the bug, and with lack of proper crashlog generated (as the game just doesn't boot with no error whatsoever) we are simply unable to conduct any further help. We have limited human resources sadly, we try our best to eliminate any potential stability/performance issues and I can immodestly tell we menaged to do well in that regard, but that one bug is out of our reach simply due to it's complexity and linkage to just Java as a game engine and varied system specifications people tend to have.
Just as you pointed out, we are currently working on a second iteration of the pack – Triforge II, in which we are trying to out-do ourselves in every possible fashion. We are using all the knowledge and skills we've got throughout the development of Triforge I to do everything even better and more fun – including stability and performance. As Triforge II is to be in the same vein as the first one, we decided to forego the further support of Triforge I and instead focus our entire workforce on it's successor to ensure the best quality possible.
If we were to make a pack entirely different than Triforge, we would continue the technical support and bug fixing for it's final iteration – but as Triforge II is supposed to be the same pack, but better – there's simply no point in spending time on unfixable/unknown bug instead of ensuring it would never occur in Triforge II.
Amazing modpack
Triforge is easily the best mod pack I’ve ever played, the pack creator works hard to balance the pack and make sure it doesn’t feel bloated. The pack also has tons of custom recipes, integrating many of the methods of crafting from different mods together. If you play Triforge, you̵7;re guaranteed to have a good time progressing and exploring the world. I also highly recommend their server, which has an amazing community.
