Alright if you like grinding tech mods.
I didn’t really enjoy this pack, and I think it’s extremely overrated and skewed by people who have a strange obsession for reading meticulously through thousands of quest descriptions and consider that to be gameplay. But if that’s you, it does seem to be pretty polished.
Also, probably mostly because it’s on an older version and has no resource pack, it’s *really* ugly
Clearly vote brigaded and uninteresting modpack
Doesn’t do anything unique, all the reviews on here were clearly left by the modpack dev’s friends or alt accounts.
It seems to be decently polished, but its “custom mods” are just worse alternatives to more popular mods, and there’s nothing else really engaging here.
Best zombie apocalypse modpack
this modpack use unique city mod, various weapon types, …
decent pack
Generally, this pack follows a stable progression line but there are jumps such as from chapters 8-9 and chapters 3-4.
The aesthetics of the pack are what you would expect from the average Minecraft pack with a pixel art style and somewhat simple design.
The performance and stability really depend on your computer, The minimum specs I would say for this pack to run smoothly all the way through the pack you would need a Ryzen 5 or Intel i5 with at least 8 GB RAM dedicated.
Highly Innovative, Invigorating

Disclaimer: I have claimed a bounty on finding an exploit for this pack.
This pack is unique in the experience it provides. It’s highly reminiscent of the early days of a Minecraft speedrunning meta, where you didn’t reset a run on a trivial mistake and nether fortresses were the primary focus. The pack is most feature-compete for the nether so I have played mostly and will focus on that.
Once I learned from external sources how to progress in the pack (a bit unintuitive to figure out), it was rather easy to get a hold of. Looting a fortress, gathering resources here and there, summoning the wither, and fighting him in the cage was a fun loop that didn’t feel too random. The mobs were best dealt with running away, making the pack feel more fast-paced, though there are a variety of strategies that are effective to deal with mobs besides just kiting, which I am highly appreciative of.
Right now it’s a bit of a short pack that gets its wings from replayability, which is currently a bit low given there are only about 15 minutes of gameplay finished, but as the pack shapes up I think things will fall into place rather quickly.
Takes up a bit more resources than your standard 1.12.2 pack. I softlocked my entire system several times because I left another app open with it.
Having art direction be under the hands of the modpack to such a degree is invigorating. Curious to see where it ends up.
The scepters and future items needed to progress should come pre-bookmarked in JEI in my opinion.
I’d happily check it out after every major dimension update in the future. This was a fun pack.
Fast-paced, stressful, well-crafted
I think the direction that this modpack is going into is perfect. The number one “issue” at the moment is the fact that its simply not finished. This of course has an impact on the gameplay and player experience, but is by no means a huge problem when it comes to this modpack, as it is a WIP with a very small developer team (stay strong Mari!).
While sometimes there are problems with performance and stability while playing, these can be resolved quickly most of the time. The discord is a great place to ask members of the community or the dev themselves if youre experiencing crashes/framedrops.
The 1 hour time limit is also fitting i belive. When first starting out with this modpack, I believe an hour is a reasonably challenging time to get through the game. More experienced players wont need anywhere close to an hour. Nevertheless, I do believe this is a fine time limit. With the modpack only becoming more well-done/finished in the future, I expect the difficulty to rise accordingly and thus justify the time limit.
The bonus timers that you can get after defeating bosses/from chests however take away from the experience in my opinion. The timers may not have a huge impact on the gameplay, as they only restore 1 minute of the 60 you have at the beginning, they do however make the clock even less of a factor in the players mind. I believe the tension or stress that could build from a limit of 60 minutes that is set in stone would greatly add to the survival horror aspect of this modpack. The limitation of the time you have should be pushed more to stress the player further, because time, just like arrows or food, is a limited resource.
The tutorial, or lack there-of, can also be a point of critique. While some players would certainly critique the lack of direction given to you in-game, I enjoy these types of games. Total freedom to figure out how to survive in this hellish world is quite an experience, and sometimes I do miss that lack of knowledge like when I first started playing this modpack.
Overall, Id say its a close to perfect Minecraft modpack to play alone or co-op. Highly recommend it.
Response from developer
Thank you for your review!
Your feedback on bonus timers is appreciated. I never thought to see it this way. I figured bonus timers would increase player agency and other strategies (ie, do I go for the bonuses timers in the fortresses or do I rush to finish?)
In the future, I planned to add some optional “side objectives” where you have to do a niche set of things in order to be rewarded with a timer bonus. That should add more content and horizontal progression. I definitely want the tension and stress from the timer be a big motivator in the pack, so I’ll keep playing around with ideas.
I’m also working through ideas on incorporating a simple and non-invasive tutorial down the line for the essentials. In the mean time, quickly reading through the features on the CF page should give new players an idea.
Thank you again for your review!

The Perfect Hardcore ModPack
I’ve been playing modded Minecraft for years and vanilla for twice as long. I have done my fair share of research regarding Minecraft modpacks and to say I am content with ROTN and its gameplay is an understatement. ROTN has a very well structured progression system. If you are looking for a modpack that you will have to grind long hours to progress that includes high risk and high reward, ROTN is perfect. I’ve been playing the modpack for a few months and I am just now reaching the endgame. ROTN has bosses that gatekeep parts of the game which make progression hard but also makes you confront possible death. Some simple luxuries that are usually easier to get become more expensive and something you will appreciate more when you are able to get them. It is a large modpack so there are some quirks and instability. My main issue is the end game, the game is still in development so there is not much meat to the VERY end of the game but that still leaves loads of gameplay before you even come near to the end though. Nothing in life is perfect and this modpack is no exception, but it sure is close to it.
Not even a modpack anymore.
This straight up isn’t minecraft anymore.
In this total conversion modpack you play Call of Duty using a minecraft based engine. Everything has been changed, from animations, to health systems and basically anything other you can think of.
I’ve played this a while ago, so this review might be slightly outdated, but the only critics I have is that you need other players to play (which makes sense due to this not really being a modpack but more of a game).

Pet enchanting
I like the textures, models and the concept of this mod. There is really only one thing that I don’t like and that is the fact that you can enchant your pets. It doesn’t feel very Minecraft-like and (in my opinion) is a bit weird.

Okay mod
The mod is okay, I would like to see more of a focus on performance as it can get pretty laggy. I do like the animals though and I would like to see a version of it with only mobs that exist IRL.
Crafted with Love
This modpack combines tons of beautiful mods and is edited in a very chill-going and friendly way. The texture packs provided are perfect for aesthetic as well as adding atmosphere. I find the questing and progression very satisfying that I rarely find in other modpacks and the exploration is fulfilling.
I keep coming back to this modpack even after trying a bunch of other farming/building oriented modpacks and this one always sticks out as something that has a lot of care and attention put into it.
Definitely a must for people who enjoy exploration, building, magic, and farming!

Not Enough Updates (not the mod)
All they did was update localization files for the last 9 years. Decent mod, but as good as dead in my eyes.
