The Twilight Forest Reviews
An All-Time Classic For a Good Reason
What is there not to love? Abundant content, unique mechanics, lots of mobs, items, bosses, biomes, and practically everything under the sun. This mod has a little something for everyone whether you PvP, PvE, build, roleplay, you name it.
Yes, the mod is old in many respects, but in my personal opinion it all holds up well to this day even if some things should be updated according to others.
I love this mod. I want this mod to continue as it has been to update to newer versions and slowly but surely keep adding the new, great-quality content that has been getting added for so many years now.
Want to love it, but...
I really like the mod and have played it on multiple Modpacks. The different dimension and the aspects it adds work flawlessly. When finished it’d be a great mod, big issue is it has remained unfinished for way too long.
Spoilers about the last part || I’d guess they just can217;t seem to finalize on an idea of what ending boss they would want and so they are stuck on a loop of fixing or smoothing other things instead of the “ending”. ||
In my opinion they should stop updating it to newer versions, pick one MC version, finish it and then update it for preferred versions instead of chasing the newest compatibility. Having a completed mod would be nicer than it working smooth on “x” version.

A classic, obviously...
I really do enjoy this mod quite a bit. There’s a reason it was in PickCrafter is what I’m saying.

disappointing. no idea why it's still so popular
not only has it been unfinished for 10 years, almost nothing interesting has happened in the meantime. it’s not charming or nostalgic, it’s clunky and old and boring.
they’re always working on something, but it just seems to be racing to adapt their dinosaur codebase to newer versions of minecraft. A new mod definitely needs to step in and take the “fantasy dimension mod with progression” role.

Not Enough Updates (not the mod)
All they did was update localization files for the last 9 years. Decent mod, but as good as dead in my eyes.
So much failed potential.
This mod is actually historic, being one of the most popular mods some ten years ago now, however over the years it really has fallen off. The promise of the ending never came true, its still just half of a project, and after more than a decade i expected so much more from the team. The mod looks nice, parts are fun to explore and discover, but it just feels so empty once you reach a certain point, because theres no ending, just an empty castle with nothing to do. overall I used to love this mod, but that love has long since faded away, as the mod feels like it hasnt changed at all for years.
